Are you an Inspiring Science Teacher? Would you like to share some of your most inspiring teaching moments? If the answer is yes – then take part in the Inspiring Science Education Competition 2014–2015 for a chance to visit London and some of its really exciting science museums and exhibitions.

This competition is all about recognising and rewarding inspirational science teaching practice and is aimed at teachers who are planning to run an exciting experiment in their science class between now and March 31, 2015 to coincide with the International Year of Light.

We are looking for projects that:

  • use some of the exciting resources and tools made available in the Inspiring Science Education portal
  • are linked to one of the Big Ideas in Science Education
  • are based on inquiry and which are innovative, creative and engaging

To take part:
Register your project on the Inspiring Science Education website where you will find links to resources and materials that you can use in your project as well as the judging criteria. Join the Competition community on the ISE portal and find other schools taking part.

Prizes:
Judging will take place in April 2015 when the finalists will be notified. Finalists will be invited to take part in the Science on Stage Festival in London on 19 June 2015 and have the opportunity to visit several other science exhibitions. The overall winner will be announced at the Festival. The winner and runners-up will receive prizes from Vernier, providers of distinguished interfaces, sensors, software, and curriculum to transform how educators teach science and how students collect, analyze, and interpret scientific data.
